Welcome! I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher! This is going to be a fun year with lots of new adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.
Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I grew up here in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. I began my freshman year of college at Texas A&M University, but graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. I taught first grade in Plano, TX for six years, I taught second grade in Austin ISD for three years, and I am excited to begin my third year teaching first grade at Elsa England Elementary.
My mission as a teacher is to instill a love of learning in my students. They will be given opportunities to collaborate with each other, share their ideas, engage in hands-on learning and innovative technological experiences.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family. I know we will have a great year together! It is important to me that we keep an open line of communication, so please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely, Nicole Fernandez
